Deadline Drawer keeps what you save on your own device. There are no network requests of any kind, no accounts and no telemetry. This page describes what the extension actually does with your data, including the one deliberate exception.
When you save a page, this extension stores, on your own device only:
chrome.storage.sync), which is the mechanism Chrome uses for extension preferences. If you have Chrome sync switched on, that one string travels between your own Chrome profiles the way your other Chrome settings do. It is a theme name and nothing else. No saved record, URL, title, note, screenshot or date is ever written to that area.chrome://, chrome-extension://, about:, the Chrome Web Store) cannot be saved at all.A screenshot can contain anything visible on the page at the moment you captured it, which may include home addresses, order numbers, financial fragments, or authentication-bearing URLs, depending on what page you were looking at. Treat a screenshot the same way you would treat a photograph of your screen.
It is supporting context only. It is not cryptographically timestamped and not merchant-authenticated proof of anything, regardless of how it looks. Deleting a record deletes its screenshot in the same operation.
The extension never visits an address you saved. Clicking a reminder opens your own record on the extension's own page. It does not load the website, not the exact link and not the site's home page, and no part of the extension makes a request to a saved address at any time. The address is shown as selectable text with a Copy link action, and it is copied only when you press that button.
This is a privacy property, not only a safety one. A saved address can carry a one-time sign-in token or an unsubscribe identifier, and a request to it, even one you did not intend, tells that site you were there and can act on your behalf. Nothing about how a link is written can tell which links those are, so the extension does not make the request at all. Once you copy an address it goes wherever your clipboard goes, which can include clipboard history or a password manager, so it is copied only on an explicit press.
You can export everything this extension has stored, as a single local file, at any time, including images. That file contains everything described above, including any screenshots, so treat an exported file with the same care as the data it contains. Import is all-or-nothing: a bad or corrupted file is rejected with a clear explanation and never partially applied.
Every saved item has a Delete action. Deleting a record removes the record, its URL, its title, its note, its screenshot and its entire history from this device in a single operation. Any reminder still waiting to be shown for that record is removed with it. It cannot be undone from inside the extension, so it asks you to confirm first.
Drop is a different action and is not a deletion. Dropping an item marks it as something you are not going to do and keeps it, with its history, so you can still find it later. If what you want is for the data to be gone, use Delete.
Items you have marked done or dropped are moved to an archived list once their date has passed, so the working list stays the things that still need attention. Archiving is a change of status only: nothing is removed, and archived items remain fully visible under the archived filter until you delete them or uninstall.
Uninstalling the extension removes all of its stored data from your device. There is no copy anywhere else, so if you want to keep your data, export it first.
